About Dr. Bresett
Dr. Bresett received his PhD in Health Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He completed his M.S. in Community Health and his B.A. in Anthropology from State University of New York at Potsdam. He teaches core (e.g. Grantwriting, Public Health Leadership, and Public Health Interventions) courses in the graduate Masters of Public Health Program.
Research Profile
Dr. Bresett is a qualitative researcher whose prior research examines substance-use disorders in rural settings. He focuses on substance-use treatment, harm reduction practices, and combating stigma in rural settings. His future research will continue to look at ways to address barriers in rural health settings for people to access resources for treating substance-use disorders, harm reduction interventions, and reducing the spread of infectious diseases. Dr. Bresett has presented at the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) annual meetings.
