 Must pass drug screen and criminal background checks (this position requires working with minors) Must have reliable transportation Must be willing to commit two semesters Enjoys working with teens Experience working (paid or volunteer) with youth at school-based programs, recreation centers, camps, and/or community-based agencies

Position Description

 SIUE TRIO Upward Bound Scholars Academy at Collinsville HS is looking for graduate students who want to be a mentor to high school students.

During the academic year, services are provided at Collinsville High School during school hours (9am-3pm) and after school Tuesdays and Thursdays (after 3pm).

Responsibilities: Conduct individual advising sessions with teens Provide tutoring/homework assistance during school hours and after school Prepare lesson plans and facilitate college prep, career readiness and life skills workshops Co-teach high school level academic classes and electives/clubs Track program participation and input advising notes Administer assessment tools Administrative duties Chaperone field trips when needed
