UHFM schedules and completes various preventative maintenance tasks such as air filter changes, pest control, and more. Residents should complete the following tasks to keep their rooms and units clean and pest-free.
Cleaning & Maintenance Tips
General Cleaning
Keep your living space clean to avoid pests, odors and buildup of dirt and grime.
- Vacuum and Sweep Floors at least once a week to prevent dust and dirt buildup.
- Wipe Down Surfaces such as desks, countertops and tables with a disinfectant.
- Empty Trash Regularly to avoid odors and pests.
- Organize Belongings to reduce clutter and maintain a comfortable living space.
Kitchen Maintenance
A clean kitchen reduces the risk of pests and keeps appliances functioning properly.
- Clean Dishes Promptly to avoid attracting pests and mold growth.
- Wipe Down Appliances like the microwave, stove and refrigerator regularly.
- Check and Clean the Refrigerator monthly, removing expired food and wiping down shelves.
- Clean the Sink and Drain to prevent clogs by avoiding food scraps or grease buildup.
Bathroom Maintenance
Bathrooms are prone to moisture and mold. Regular cleaning prevents issues.
- Scrub the Shower or Tub weekly to remove soap scum and prevent mold.
- Clean the Toilet with disinfectant at least once a week.
- Wipe Down Mirrors and Countertops to prevent the buildup of water stains and grime.
- Use a Shower Curtain Liner and replace it periodically to prevent mold growth.
- Check for Leaks around faucets and the toilet and report them immediately.
- Do not throw away wipes in the toilet, including flushable wipes. They are not flushable.
