1098-T Tax Information
The 1098-T Tuition Statement shall be available on, or before, January 31st each year for the previous calendar year. Please ensure the University has your social security number to prepare your IRS Tuition Payment Statement.
The Bursar's office provides access to your 1098T tax document via CougarNet. To view your 1098T, log in to CougarNet with your e-id and password (former students use 800# and PIN):
- Log into CougarNet
- Select Student
- Select Student Account
- Select Tax Notification (1098T)-Current Students
- Enter the Tax Year
For former students,
Please visit the CougarNet homepage and
- Navigate to the menu item "Previous Students and Employees" (last item in the first column).
- Read the instructions to access your account. If you need help, please contact the Service Center at 618-650-2080.
- On the login page, enter your 800 student ID number and PIN.
Once logged into CougarNet, select,
- Student
- Student Account
- Tax Notification (1098-T)-Former Students
- Select Tax Year
- Use your browser's print function to print the detail
If you encounter any problems, try using a different web browser (ie, chrome, Firefox). If you need to reset your PIN, please contact the Service Center at 618-650-2080.
Students must establish any parent, legal guardian, or other authorized 3rd Party as a Proxy to grant them online permission to view and print their 1098T. Instructions for student to establish individuals as a Proxy are outlined in the FAQ – Can a parent, authorized third-party, access my 1098T?

SIUE cannot provide you tax advice, determine your eligibility for a tax credit/deduction, or help you calculate the amount of your tax credit/deduction.
