Proxy Access FAQ
For Students
What Is Proxy Access?
SIUE now allows students to designate one or more third-party proxies who can view certain important documentation in Banner. This includes transcripts, schedules, and account information. Designating a proxy allows you to securely share this information with parents, recruiters, or other trusted individuals, but it is not the only way to access or share this information.
What can a proxy view?
The following documents are available for proxy access. However, this access is entirely in control of the student. A proxy may be given access to any or all of:
- Academic records, maintained by the Registrar's Office
- Current term grades
- Unofficial transcripts
- Student profile
- Current term weekly schedule
- Other billing and payment information (see the Bursar's Office for more details.)
A proxy cannot edit or modify this information. Students can change or revoke access at any time.
How do I grant someone proxy access?
You can find the Proxy Management menu in CougarNet under Personal Information. For step by step instructions on how to set up a proxy, see our tutorial.
Who can be my proxy? How many can I have?
Anyone can be designated as a proxy, though currently the system asks you to assign a category to a proxy - parent or guardian; employer or hiring agency; or coach or NCAA recruiter.
You can designate more than one proxy at a time, and customize what each proxy can access.
How long does proxy access last?
By default your proxy will have access for one year, after which is automatically expires. You can change these dates or manually delete a proxy in Proxy Management.
My proxy lost the link or forgot their password. What can I do?
In Proxy Management, you can view all the communications sent to your proxy and have them re-sent. You can also send a password reset link at any time.
The link to proxy access can be found on the main page of CougarNet.
